Since You’ll Never Be Forgotten

I pledge to you today
A hallowed place within my heart
is where you’ll always stay.

What though the radiance which was once so bright
Be now for ever taken from my sight,
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendour in the grass, of glory in the flower;
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind;
In the primal sympathy
Which having been must ever be;
In the soothing thoughts that spring
Out of human suffering;
In the faith that looks through death,
In years that bring the philosophic mind.

May the blessings of light be upon you, Light without and light within. And in all your comings and goings, May you ever have a kindly greeting From them you meet on the road.
May the joys of today Be those of tomorrow. The goblets of life Hold no dregs of sorrow.
I made a wish for you Upon the brightest starThat angels in heaven Will watch over you, No matter where you areFor you I also wished, Health, peace and happiness And a lifetime of dreams come true Because I’ve found a wonderful friend in you!
