The Final Flight / I Am Free

Don’t grieve for me for now I am free,
I’m following the path that God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard his call,
I turned my back and left it all.I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I’ve found the peace at the end of the day.If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes, these things surely will be missed.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I prayed for your joy to come on tomorrow.
My life was full, I savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.Perhaps my time seemed all to brief,
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart, celebrate with me,
God wanted me now, he set me free.

May the blessing of light be on you— light without and light within. May the blessed sunlight shine on you and warm your heart till it glows like a great peat fire.

By Mary Frye Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the softly falling snow. I am the gentle showers of rain, I am the fields of ripening grain. I am in the morning hush, I am in […]
